The new RWM Salem

Hi folks
Roy Wood brought the first of his new Salem Mk 2 locos over on Saturday - so we just had to make a film. The MyLocoSound sound card is `interesting` so we turned it off for the second part of the film. I think Roy will be offering different card options....

You can see it here:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6s-strlIQ4

And here is a photo or two.
Cheers
Chris

That sound card does sound interesting, I remember reading somewhere on the old forum about mounting an old aerosol lid to the back of whatever speaker you are using to get rig of the 'tinny' sound? Would be interesting to see if the harsh sound is caused by the synthesised noises on the card or being able to hear the noise escaping from the back of the speaker cone due to how and where it has been mounted?

Otherwise looks like a great model, and once again and great video from Summerlands :)

The sound is like something from Doctor Who :o But it does need a sound card!

Thanks Ricky - I will pass your comment about the baffle on to Roy.

I know he has been following up other cards today and there will certainly be other options for those who do not fancy time travel :D

On the day we made this film, we also made another one, but it got shelved as the sound card was so intrusive. Well I have now turned down the sound and dropped some Apple music in so it is a little more relaxing - well to me anyway ;)

Roy is now offering the Acme card which is just great - no music necessary....

Here is a little video with the Acme sound card fitted:

A solid looking little loco there.
To my ear the Acme sound is better.
