Gets my vote!

The Dvrr had a visitor today... Dr Beeching, because we were spending more money than making we had to make drastic changes...:rolf:

I gave a rough mesurement of the legnth of the whole thing (Sheds and turntable) it will come just over halfway down the deceased island terminal...

I will be on Tiling duty next week both sides have 17 rows of tiles by about 30-35 across, it's gonna be fun :rolf:

Well, today has been a busy day... I have finished another side of the roof fully tiled that took me a whole day....

it's starting to come on quite well the black chimney on the left side will be shorter and it will be a bit of a better finish...

very nice philip

Wow, that looks brilliant Phil:thumbup:

Wow - those tiles would be more than a night out! Painstaking is not the word.

A great addition.

Well thanks for the Compliments
The two roofs on the back of the left and right took me a day for both but i got a little bit quicker as i went on...

Mel Yes it is weatherproof It's all made out of hardwood we have used Silicone to secure the tiles

Today
Today we have been moving the rack over...

We have created more space with a HUGE passing loop down one side of the layout...

The bottem station will be made to have more storage... Lets face it we'll need it for this years record :rolf:

We have done a test run to make sure the rack locos run up the slope as we have eased off the gradient...

Whats the difference between a Grade and a Gradient?
Always confused me...

A question: how do you handle the vertical transitions from level to gradient and back espec' bearing in mind the problem of the coupling hooks fouling the rack rail or the cog 'losing' the rack rail?

I have always assumed that Gradient is used here and Grade in the USA.

Hello Keith
we just try to make the Transition as smooth as possible to allow the loco and passenger cars to level out, The coupling hooks on the Ballenberg have had the bottom piece of plastic filed off, But no modification to the coaches as they don't need it for some reason.

A garadient is a measure of the steepness of a hill.
A grade is what you get in your exams.:rolf:
