The Bandstand, Camberwick Green

Now I've just traced the rest of the members of the Firemans band for Camberwick so I'm going to build a bandstand for them, as the commercial one is a bit pricy!
Now I remember one of you is an accomplished brass band player, but can't remember who off the top of my head!, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest some music appropriate, for this small band, that I could play at a show without upsetting anyones copyright. I'm quite happy to pay for a cd to cover a public performance and have a note on the display board crediting the music.
Here's the band

3Valve (Gareth) is your man Paul....

Yes, but watch out for the huge foot at the end :nail:

Your best bet is one or a selection of early brass marches as a lot of them are no longer in print and outside of copyright now.

Copyright on music lasts until 70 years from the death of the last remaining author of the work, hence you're pretty safe with stuff from late 1800's/early 1900's.

I'll have a sift through the band library and give you some suggestions.

Look for stuff by the following composers:-

Kenneth Alford
William Rimmer
Edward Elgar

and if you want it genuine complete with splits, fluffs warts and all, I can get something recorded at one of my band's rehearsals.

OH YES PLEASE!!! where did you get them?
I have plans for a bandstand but need a band.....

Hate to tell you, but the Firemen were in Trumpton, not Camberwick Green, although Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley were all in Trumptonshire.................

Thanks for the info Gareth, It was you I was thinking of when I asked :) I was wondering if you might have something I could use for a small donation to the band as it would be copyright free and no issues on playing it at shows.

eBay Trev, there's a seller mitchy9210, he might have more left as he said he was going to leave the BIN listing open as he had more. I made an offer which he accepted ;)
