springing PIKO points?

has anyone done this?
I want to run out of the loop trailing on the straight and into the loop on the curve
I've fitted a LGB manual lever to the PIKO R3 [equiv LGB R5] point but the spring is not man enough to return the point to the curve once the train has run through the straight
any ideas?

Have you removed the spring Piko fit to their points which is hidden under the tiebar cover?
