Has anybody had experience with splicing PLA filament?
I have a number of reels with small amounts on them that I would like to splice together to get a usable size reel.
Any suggestions welcome.

I haven’t tried slicing filament together but on my Ender 3 , I just watch till the filament disappears into the feed and thread another one in behind it, until the motor drive takes it up , I haven’t had a failed print yet using this method, it’s a bit tedious as you have to stand there and carefully watch the filament going in and out until it does not come out any more!
Hope this helps
Dave

I have flashforge printers and they have filament runout sensors. I think that you can retrofit these to others such as enders, otherwise you can just print some small stuff e.g. pallets or cargo.
