I've got an LGB New Orleans street car - all DCC and very nice too. I'd like to add a sound board - does anyone do a sound board for these and what sorts of sounds would be on them - apart from the occasional trumpet player?

There are a couple of sound units available in the States try Trolleyville. A nice trolley I converted mine to live overhead using modified Bachmann trolley poles.

Phoenix do them for this tram, not exactly cheap though. i don't know if it would work on DCC? I've only seen them used on R/C loco's.

2nd and 3rd items on the list are probally what you're looking for.

It seems a lot of money for not very much sound.
Even the originals are not very noisy. The driver makes more noise than the tram!

Hmmm- I've heard some interesting language from the streetcar drivers in NOLA, but not in German.

I have to confess, the streetcars are pretty quiet in 1:1. The other thing is their lights are on at both ends whenever they are running, unlike the LGB ones!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I feel I must keep looking.......

Wasn't the tram available ready equipped with sound at some stage in the past?

I'm sure the bequeathed example that we will be selling at the Ipswich Transport Museum in the near future has that feature, though I haven't seen it run for about 18 months, so I can't remember exactly how good the sound was!
