Hello from the north of England!

I've spent some time looking through the various threads and decided to say 'Hello' and explain why.

Last summer I bought a 'Train' (Newquida?) set for my Grandson's birthday with r/c loco, coaches, and plastic track.

I'm aware that some forum members are rather sniffy about this range but so far we appear to have had value for money, while accepting certain weaknesses.

In the meantime, additional, similar track has been sourced and a permanent setup created in the garden on our visits to his home. (Unfortunately he lives 160 miles away.)

I have a number of comments/questions. What would be the 'done thing' for these? I wondered about creating a new thread describing what has been done so far and listing the comments/questions together.

Absolutely nothing wrong with buying Newqida, as long as you realise in the end you get what you pay for, cheap and cheerful! :)
With a few tweaks they can look as good as LGB equivalents.

.

I note that you didn't actually say that it was for your grandson ;););)

However, I wouldn't worry about who made it, get out there and play with it :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Welcome Peter..
I to bought one of these.. But just the loco. - I think mine was a very early one, and had not been well-loved.

But.. I goes, so that is a bonus..

Enjoy the railway, and your Grandson! - They grow up so fast..

they do have their limitations,, and it would be great if the engine could run better,, but you have shown that you can have fun with the family and its ok to bash them and have little ones get their hands on them,,,

the stock is ok but with a second hand small lgb loco and some second hand track the difference would be very noticeable

but as a start into the hobby these sets are ok,,,,,
