I have been playing with the idea of making a set of LGB 4050 logging cars look more simple.
I made this set of mounts.that will replace the deck, and support the logging attachment.

Yes, an improvement. Looks more like the real deal.

Now I understand! I could not work out at first where your new components fitted Are you making them into Disconnects?
I'm not sure what you mean by "Disconnects"

The base of the log holders have 4 tabs that fit into the holes marked green and the tabs marked red fit into the wagon frame.

Thank you for your reply Steen.

When I first saw the black components, I did not understand where they fitted. When you posted with the white 3D printed ones, it all became clear. I do not have any of the LGB ones that you show.

Here is a pic of the LGB Disconnects. Normally each truck or bolster is disconnected from its' twin and the log load is then the coupling between the two trucks.

I normally use Bachmann logging flats or, a cheap makeover like the one pictured below;

Steen,
Would you have any close-up pictures of the couplings please?
Many thanks,

Thank you, and for the link..
looks like an excellent value kit of accessories.

Thanks for the info..
Some other interesting products available, as well.

I have found him to be very good to deal with and his little flat cars make good starters for kitbashes.
I did find the wheels to be a bit light but I just glued a washer on the back to give extra weight down low and they run OK.
