Scrach built Russian G scale

That is amazing. Everything handbuilt...incredible. I do like his 'driver's' seat consol. A nice way of almost being in the 'cab' of the train.

Nice post Csongor!

Now that really is using whatever is to hand! Dedicated enthusiast there and deserves full marks:thumbup:

The man did good there....

It isn't digital. Probably not even analogue. I don't think I'd dare touch the track or catenary in case the voltage hasn't been transformed :nail:

Yes, amazing dedication and effort - and I guess even the rough running may be prototypically accurate for Russian railways! ;)

Has anyone else noticed that listening to someone talking in Russian sounds like a tape being played backwards....?

Jon.

Wow thats really unique! Someone please tell me, was that all built before the wall fell?

Incredible! Even the rails are scratch built. I did see some electronic equipment there, about where the key pad is. I guess he calls for help when there is a snag in the catenary :rolf: One question, what is he doing at about 2:15 into the video? Looks like he's grinding wheels or something.

I asked a friend to translate what they are saying in the spot: The guy is from Georgia, he built the whole setup from scratch. Ever night for the last 7 years, he simulates the timetable between Tbilisi to Batumi at a scale speed of 6 kmph (?) and makes 22 station stops. At one point he was offered $100.000 for his models, but did not sell. He has some railway degree but he admits ha has no proper maths or physics knowledge. The reason they are showing his village and power lines at the end, because he also built a model air plane which hit the power lines causing 3 day blackout in the village.
