Saturday 10th August 2019 - East Anglia Garden Railway Show at Bressingham Steam Museum

The Missus an me may make the 300 mile round trip as there's a collectable bear emporium not far from the show site, that she wants to visit. (So that'll be the whole budget blown...)

Actually, it's a cunning ploy. If she spends her money on teddy bears, then she can't complain about the money I spend on trains...

Gizzy's top tip!

Order your tickets on-line, and print them off ready for the day....

Appears that the Bressingham Show may be a half decent show for fans of G Scale (Especially for people who live this side of the country). I've been to a few of their shows but they often seem very 16mm/SM32 focused.

I've done a little bit of research and looking at their website it appears there are quite a few traders selling G scale stuff:

- Mike
- East Coast Rail
- Garden Railways Ltd
- Anything Narrow Gauge
- A stall selling off a private collection (I've heard the seller has moved house and longer has a garden so they are selling everything, rolling stock, track, points, buildings and bridges etc)
- On a previous visit I recall Andy Lynch Model Railways selling loads of american style buildings and rolling stock but his stall is hit and miss in regards to our interests.
- On Facebook I have seen a post by Great Eastern Railway stating they will be selling 'loads of second hand LGB items'. This is intriguing as these guys usually deal in the smaller scales and gauges. They are by no means Garden Rail specialists. Does this mean there are bargains to be had?

Plus the website states a G Scale static display and Puntoe Halt (A layout by Simon Marshall).

Sounds like its worth a visit this year.

Anne from GER knows what she is selling even though it's not her usual stock. I believe most came from a very large job lot she bought a few months ago. Many years ago the family business did sell LGB and Piko so it's not unknown territory for them. Nice people.

Just be aware, the Garden Rail Show appears to only be the Saturday??

Never made Bressingham. - A l-o-n-g drag from the Middle. Especially, as am not in a position to make a weekend of it. :(

Today, also had an invite to a private Steam Party.. Same day, very local. 'Granddad' apparently made his own steam engine, and will get a chance to see it, possibly?
Might get a chance (as low numbers) to have a go on 'Samson' as well.. - Samson being a 100 year old traction engine.. Been in the same family, on the same farm, all its' life.
Oh, and he happens to have his own 7 1/4" line as well. :):)
