It's all looking very good but yes you must get some night shots.... maybe on your return from the pub?
OK, forget 10 o'clock, make it half one. :rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf:

Silly boys: half-one is when the pork pie canapes come out. I'm not missing them....

Dear Mr Whatlep Sir,

Having found your use of copper tape was very natty could I ask where you source it?

Prince Rudolf has his servant obtain supplies from eBay. Apparently typing in "copper tape 6mm" does the trick.

Honestly, the things I do for you lot. E tenebris lux (*)

Zenda station and that phone kiosk. The kiosk's single 3mm LED puts out a nice warm glow and quite enough light for the purpose. For some reason, I keep expecting the phone to ring...

The postal depot, doubtless full of busy workers at this late hour:

The platforms: quiet at 01.20, but another day will soon dawn with passengers, mail and merchandise to transport across our glorious nation.

Finally, from the old castle ramparts, an overview of the station area. Perhaps another light on the station wall would help illuminate the access area between station building and the phone kiosk? Maybe a little more thickness in the station's upper walls too. All work for another day....

The whole area looks excellent (although I see what you mean about the upper storey of the station - a possble cause of false alarms for the local fire brigade) and the sheen on the platform surface just adds that bit extra atmosphere of a deserted station on a damp night.

That looks REALLY good!! And you really were up in the early hours!! I wonder if some dark paint on the inside of the station attic might help. If you hadn't mentioned it I would not have noticed though.

Looking Great Peter. An inspiratoin as always.
Its nice to see train crews now have a guiding light to find their way back from the pub at the end of Shift.

Love it, especially the lights above the loading bays of the postal depot. (or at least where the loading bays will be).

Most amazing of all though is the lack of ........... ahem .............. camera shake.:bigsmile:

Thanks all for your kind comments.
The secret to lack of camera shake? Years of practicing abstinence and self-control. :rolf:

Yes Paul, I must get some night scenes with trains once the station is more complete. Lots more bits & pieces to add. I find even adding the occasional sign here and there enlivens a scene.

Right we will test that with a CR photo session after a night on the ale in witney... sounds impressive. :rolf:

Or see some late night reveller urinating in it (all in the sake of originality of course)
Seriously though this is all excellent stuff, the details and lighting really make it work for me.

June has arrived and with it more scenery at Zenda station - railings at the rear edge of the platform and a multitude of people. Some old (14 years of "presence" for the oldest!), some new. All, I hope, adding something to the mix.

A general view of the platform. The seats are glued to the railings and help hold them upright. The Ruritanian style police will be having a swift word with the chap in the foreground. Probably best if he takes the next available train over the border.

A rather suspicious looking old couple. I suspect those innocent looking bags are full of dodgy pork scratchings....

Who needs a phone box when you've got a mobile phone?

Travellers gather around the station building. Looks like someone is making a swift exit: no ticket?

These two have been enjoying a chat for over a decade....

...and old Johnny Nomates has been guarding the end of various platforms for about the same length of time. A "no crossing the tracks" sign makes the railings a little less monotonous.

A general shot from the platform ends shows that they have been painted black (a big improvement) and the staff telephone now sits much more nicely on the platform without the slightly naff stone base. The cunning photo angle hides the fact that Ruritanian Railways procurement function goofed on railing purchases and needs another 600mm or so to finish off the platform. Damn! :@

Just as a reminder, we also run trains in Ruritania. Preferably hauled by a Mallet!

Of course you can't please everyone. Charlie expresses his irritation at the removal of Zenda's platforms from his list of sleeping places by blocking Pootank Pass. How does he remain immune to 18 volts through his bare paws?
