That is sacrilege!!!!
Turning a Bundaberg Fowler into some sort of goodness what.
That is not a Bundaberg Fowler.
This is what a Bundaberg Fowler should look like nothing like that.

It's a VERY fine name for the end-product of the line that this little loco ran on - Bundaberg Rum!!!

The lines these locos ran on never ended at the distillery but at sugar mills around the district.
There is a sugar mill next door and the molasses that is used to make the rum is piped across the road.

If I was ever going to rich enough to be able to afford one of these fine-looking locomotives, I'd do my utmost to make it look exactly as it is supposed to - just like the images above.

GAP, I have seen photographs of Bundaberg no 5 with a straight chimney. I kept the balloon stack and smoke box, but for the time being the locomotive will run with the straight chimney.

Bundaberg - that's a good, solid, woody name for a loco, isn't it?

It's a good solid woody drop too... ;)
Restored Bundaberg loco steams again

I like the straight chimney - each to his own. As for the distillery >:)

Surprisingly the chuff from the straight chimney is far better than the balloon stack.

..... and, for those that don't like rum, Bundy also do a pretty good Ginger Beer (probably the top selling one in NZ at least).

It's really popular in Aust as well, personally I am a fan of the sarsaparilla ( sent to the US as root beer)
A piece of trivia for the Kiwis the Royal Crown Cola (RC Cola) is made in the same factory and is not available in Aust it is all shipped across the ditch.

Root Beer, an acquired taste, apparently. Ordered one on Amtrak (I'd developed a taste for 'strange drinks'), and the Attendant asked if I was sure. Apparently, lots of tourists order it to try, and don't like it.
My Kiwi accent gave me away.

Some serious thread drift seems to be occurring.
