I have long desired a "Toy Train" of the roundhouse Darjeeling Himalayan variety. Does any one own one run one or have Pics. I would be realy interested of Pics of coaching stock.
I assume they run well because of the stable they come from or am I wrong?
Any comments would be greatfully received.

Regards Garry

I don';t have one, but did have a visitor last year......they run like all Roundhouse locos - fine!

Yummy - but I'm not allowed one, my SWMBO thinks they're ugly.... :wits:

Interesting Colour Prototypical ?

In my eyes they are beautiful . Unless your SWMBO is about and then of course I would 100% agree with her.

:nail: ;)

This one currently holds the lap record for the F& St.M, not mine, but belonging to a daredevil friend!

We have had one running on our club layout.
They definitely look good in blue with the appropriate blue coaches tagging behind.

Ah yes, likes to run 'em, doesn't he!! :o

i like the orange
i love the blue
i think because they are unique they have a special place-very nice looking-very steam and you get to see all the details

and i once saw one in green on sidestreetbanner- a us live steam site--green is, apparently, an earlier livery -with red pin stripes i believe
from another maker

I went to swanley Narrow gauge show Saturday, and found this rather pretty semi scratch built Class A on the G scale stand. I reacon it is brilliant. Chating to the guys apparently it has some Roundhouse parts but a lot is scratch...............Oh for those skills!!

He had made this lovely kit coach I think he said IKB? Perhaps someone will correct or agree? Made to a good standard. Also love the figures anyone know who they are by?

I.P. do them

and so does Rob Bennett

There was a thread on these on GSM. Apparently they aren't especially powerful, but do run as well as any other RH loco, i.e. very well! They just don't pull as well as say a "Jack"(that'll give NHN an excuse to post another photo then!).

If you want to scratch build

OR

detail a Roundhouse one, try looking here

And if you go to the 7/8ths Forum, there are 5-6 boards on there just about the Darjeeling, including other scales than just 7/8ths
