Hi all,

Just thought I'd add a few photo's of my scratchbuilt small display base for the odd loco'. Ok this one is in 7/8ths or 1/12th but the same principle applies to G as well. It just makes a loco or piece of stock look better when in the living room etc:D

Its basically a bit of hand laid code 250 NS rail spiked to wooden sleepers to 45mm gauge and ballasted then with ground work and grass added. It needs more and better vegetation adding as time goes by now. Plus a bit of old rail used as fencing at the front. I need to balance it up with something at the back, probably a bush but in 7/8ths its not a matter of adding a bit of lichen etc you can see individual leaves etc... I need to think on that one!

I can get away with leaving loco's on the sideboard now;)

Nice one Steve! My base took about 5 days but spread over several months 'cause I kept having to do a thing called work in between :D  Happy know that I can take the indoor scenics idea onwards and get on hopefully wit hmy next project a 6foot by 2foot "micro" type layout...... probably take months to start though!
