R/C Not working

The next problem I have is that the DIMAX Navigator does not work in R/C mode. Tethered it works fine. The red light is on the Receiver but the Navigator shows a black cross through the loco picture on the screen. It worked fine the last time I used it. Any ideas ?

Have you tried resetting or repowering both Navigator and Z1200....

I have turned them on/off multiple times, tried a new cable. Replaced batteries in handset, cleaned contacts in receiver, Can`t think of anything else !

Check the radio is fitted tight and check the receiver module. Is the ariel inserted?

I have cleaned up the end of the aerial, also the socket it goes into, still not working. It could be a fault with the receiver but at £100 a time I don't want to buy another one on the off chance.

Does the Navigator display show there is a link with the central station? (There should be a picture of an antenna in the top right corner next to the battery symbol)
If you don't have this, it's worth confirming that the Navigator RC channel matches that of the wireless receiver as described in section 8.9 of the Navigator manual (downloadable from the Massoth Wiki).
If you do, then try editing an existing loco config or creating a new one, and then see if you can connect to a loco. I have had the "black X" on a couple of occasions and when the usual power off/on didn't work, the create/edit did the trick.

Good suggestions Phil. Why didn't i say that!

Just coincidence! I've been looking at R/C channels recently as I'm trying to work out if I need to make any changes to have 2 Navs and a Feedback module connected wirelessly to my central station.

Navigator Transmitter and the Receiver are set to TWO different RC Channels ?......

All on the same channel.

As well as all being on the same RC Channel, each wireless device requires a separate individual ID.

I had this happen to me on my last open day two years ago, everything had been working fine then it just stopped. My receiver is under a 2 Ltr bottle cover on the stub branch of a tree, to give me the widest coverage of signal, on inspection, I found a family of Earwigs had moved into the blue box! Nothing I could do, after evicting said tenants, would make the receiver work. It went back to Massoth via 'Muns' , and the repair cost me £14 . It now works fine again, but I have sealed it inside the cover now. There was no explanation from Massoth as to what the problem was. It was a little annoying being away for several months but better than £100 for a new one, and I could still use the railway with the handsets tethered.
