the ash fall leaves stems all over the place - annoyingly cause derailments and block points

Nice !!!!!

Cheers
The water bottle was less than a quarter full ( fortunately ) and the gas was on the last gasp :)
Even so the PM diesel was nearly at its limit

2 poor runs with Countess, nothing went right
Phone call to Simon of Anything Narrow Gauge (who phoned me back even though he was on holiday)
Sorted out r/c glitches
Then 2 good runs

It's not as tolerant of lumpy track and uneven points as a RH but getting to grips with manoeuvring and shunting.
Appropriate truck for the coaling siding

Ahh, a good old ash tree. There was a big one at the old house and it caused a right mess in autumn. Love the viaduct, with the railway clinging to the embankment, rather than passing through the central arch.
