Initially, I had a dislike of the Pola G relief buildings , mostly because they’re one-sided, and very “purpose specific“ i.e. up against a wall, and useful for a narrow shelf type layout. And, right or wrong, my perception is that these are pricey for what one gets in the kit. Essentially 1/3 of a four sided building for full cost.
I have since come full circle. In large part, due to the decreasing supply of pola g buildings, especially business buildings.
These buildings are basically detailed façades, cookie cutter as usual, and can nicely fill out any scene where there’s a single or restricted viewing angle. I have used them as backdrops to a city center, and, as below, use them for a “Strasse“ merely backed by pinion Pines, not necessarily Realistic, but they do provide some interest along the right of way, and have a smaller footprint, making them rather versatile.
Heres an Occult Bookstore that i built.
It has resin 3d 1/24 bookshelves, lots of expensive 1/24 dollhouse ‘witch’ details, (all comes from china and is much more than just a few years ago ) a green pulsing light behind the large ouija board, a pulsing UV LED nano chip inside the glow in the dark skull on the right. I added 4 1.8 mm leds to the top of the showcase and tinted 2 amber and 2 blue.
The pola stock window display items are typically pathetic or worse, large photo stickers with almost surreal ‘wtf’ photos. This kit utilized included several stock pola g ag /farm items, scythe, wheel barrow, rakes, to make some sort of garden shop, sans aprpos signage.
Adding interesting details is something i like to do, but rarely do my visitors notice it. I do.
My attempt at free hand signage…meh…and a pentacle made from black ‘branches’. (A piece of witch costume jewelry courtesy etsy.
Painted the ground facade mottled violet. I have no idea if german towns would allow such color variation.
Extra black was on roof , shutters and flower boxes, to make it dark, but not a complete dark horse.
Double click on the display window photo to see the ‘spell book’, bottom, left of center, with its eyeball latch.
