Playmobile 4021 charger

You definitely want the " playmobil 7829 " which is a battery holder that fits your train and opens to take AA batteries (rechargeable preferred). Then you won't need that playmobil charger anymore. Playmobil USA does not have the 7829 anymore, and will likely never have them again. You can find them on ebay sometimes, but it would probably be cheaper to have someone from another country (UK or maybe Europe, or somewhere else) to get them from playmobil in their country for you.
You could try putting a rubber band around your old charger to hold the battery in to get things running, but those old black batteries that use the charger probably won't hold that much of a charge anymore. I think.... maybe... if you can solder, you can try to figure out how to open the old battery and replace the cells with AA's, but you'd have to de-solder and then re-solder a capacitor inside in order to charge them with the original charger. Also, the way the charger sometimes flashes it's light for a moment after a certain number of seconds in a certain state can be deceiving and make you think there is no connection when the light is not immediately on, so check the documentation to see what the light indications are. I thought mine wasn't working when it actually was.
