An ESU XL4.0 digital decoder is installed in one of the power cars, and it also controls the second power car. The motors in the power cars—and consequently the sound—ramp up with a time delay.
 
That is very impressive, love the sound. I have used the same ESU V4 card on my Bachmann Fn3 scale Heisler & Baldwin "logging" Mallet, both are battery/rc operated using the Fosworks 2.4 Ghz TX/RX combo. That setup can access 12 of the V4's functions, not true DCC but you get the authentic ESU library sound. However you might need this iconic sound for the TEE burned on your ESU V4' chip. So you can select as an "alt sound". OK a bit obvious:giggle:Max.
