Piko Sound ?

Hello All,

I ve recently got a Piko Digital Sound loco and cannot get the sound to work, any ideas please ?.

Im using the Massoth Digital setup, Ive got the lights working in direction of travel and the firebox flicker but unable to work out why the sound dosent work.

The Piko book says sound is ON with number 4 and OFF with number 8, neither seem to work, also its says the lights are on/off number 0 but these work via number 9,

Any help greatly appreciated please.
 
Which loco is it please? Some PIKO sound locos use a SUSI connected sound module attached to the motor decoder. It could be the SUSI cable has become loose, or maybe the motor decoder setting for SUSI bus has got reset somehow. Or the speaker cable has become loose. If you can, open it up. If there is a loose cable that should be obvious. If not take a picture and we can take a look.

The loco is the Piko class 50 (2-10-0), item number 37241,

The address is set to number 3 as it goes both directions but no sound, The volume on the tender is turned up fully and the 2 switches are both off as they are supposed to be for the interior light ans stoke generator,

Should have said i dont realy want to open it up as its brand new , also ive sent Piko a message asking them the same but thought it would get sorted a lot faster here, Cheers all :)
 
I have found issues with sound in the past. Are you certain about the instructions because many have a sound on/off button and one to start the sound which can be very confusing. As there appears to be 2 buttons try to do all 4 combinations of both buttons.

Just to say that its sorted out with all sounds working, didn't realize the controller was sending out serial signals !, changed to parallel and all ok.
