Piko Motor Blocks

HI there does anyone know of the wheel sizes and dimensions of the NEW piko motor block for the mogul please.

i am thinking of using it as a base for 2-6-2s and 4-6-2s using 3d printed blocks to "flesh out" the frames and join it appropriately.



with any luck i can use the 3d printed components i already have which consist of an modular boiler system with different types of fire boxes and cylinders.

Jeremy, that's a different block.

'steamskip', I once measured the Mogul block. Will look tomorrow if I still have those measurements.

I seemed to have lost those measurements, but I will take my Mogul apart tomorrow (that was planned anyway, for a DCC install), so will take new measurements for you.

Axle distance (total): 119 mm
Axle distance (front to center): 64 mm
Axle distance (center to rear): 55 mm
Wheel diameter: 44,6 mm

The plastic motor block housing seems to have the same length, width and height measurements as the other 0-6-0 motor block housing (

I tried my best to measure correctly, but the measurements can be off by +/- 1 mm...

Oh cool thank you very much most helpfull will now produce a 3d model and build various body's around the motor block .

hmmm im planning on doing something similar at some point but it would involve extended the frame to add another pair of drivers to make a 2-8-0 because nobody makes a 1:29th scale 2-8-0 anymore
