Piko Kamels hump

As someone new to the forum and having an intestinal in the HSB, I have been trying rework the lab rubber rule and get stock and locos to look something like, anyway I have been raising my Piko Kamel by packing under the bogie pivot, which helps.
Now to give me some idea and not owning one yet, can any one tell me how high an lgb 2-10-2 is from rail high to the cab roof and top of the bunker?

Thanks for any help and I'll try to work out how to post some photos so you can see what I'm up to.

16/14.5 Cm not that that means much with LGB's Flexible Ruler. However to me the Kamel is just high enough and the 2-10-2 looks good enough for me to not worry. Be interesting to see what you are up to though.

Welcome to the forum, Pete, hope you enjoy it here and get plenty of useful information - and I'm assuming that was an unfortunate autocorrect in your post, or are you just going with your "gut feeling"....?

I've got a Piko Harzkamel, plus a fair bit of other HSB stock (both black and green TL45 Mallets, the new TL45 "Pfiffi", LGB 2-10-2 and 2-6-2 and the orange LGB KoF, plus a mix of LGB and TL45 coaching stock including the open cabrio car and a set of the TraditionsZug green coaches). To my mind they all look just fine together, but then I've never minded about the "rubber ruler" approach as long as things look about right.....

Welcome aboard Pete,
The Harz kamel is a little small all round - the body molding was used for the G scale standard gauge version as well - so it was never going to be 100 percent accurate. That said, it's a good representation and a darn site better than anything I could build. Just one observation with making it taller - it only just clears the large LGB bridge, just in case you wanted one, and if and when you take it to another layout (all part of the G Scale fun) it might not fit their tunnels..

(Thanks JonD). In the second photo, you can see a lowered baggage car behind the Kamel. (before I raised the kamel)

By the way, the first post was done on my tablet, hence the gut problems!!

I have only raised it about 3mm under the bogie pivot (this could be removed if needed) as the other part of the grand plan is lowering some of the coaches by around 4mm, which should give the right effect (ie the headlight on the Kamel is just above the coach roof) however, as I will at some point have to get a 2-10-2, I didn't want to go to far with out knowing the height of the 2-10-2! I have to say, I like the thinking here. There are some aspects of railway modelling that if you can just get one of them to look right, the whole effect changes.

That's why I ended up at 1:20.3 - I'm not so worried about the height, but the extra width does the business for me

I've got around to posting some photos of the underside of the kamel showing how it was done. First shows as designed, second, fitting the packing (4mm) under the pivot, third reassembled and lastly a side view where you can also see a packing placed between the fuel tank and mainframe. all that needs doing now is to extend the steps down (they're a step short anyway) and perhaps some foam between the bogies and mainframe to fill the gap.

Have to say that the increase in Height does look to be worthwhile. However I am in the realms of Stockers warning in that I only just managed to get the Kamel through parts of my line with Minimul Chopping of openings and Baseboard Supports. I did a small thread on the issue of checking the Height of stuff as you build the Railway.

Me thinks that the Kamel as altered will always be the defining Height, though the LGB Beer Vans with Capula are also pretty challenging Height Wise.

More importantly, just how high (above rail-head) is that opening, please?
