I think personally that the Piko offering gives very good value for money.
I have noticed that certain models are only produced one year and then the next a new colour or variation comes out, which is nice if either you didn't like the previous livery option or you want to build a varied fleet, BUT it does mean you might find certain models harder to get hold of if you want several of one type, this seems most prevalent of the wagons.
I guess my only criticism is that the rolling stock come with plastic wheels, its about time metal wheels were standard in G Scale.
Obviously Piko are taking the "Hornby" approach by offering the same model in lots of liveries, but hopefully this will help them make a good return on each model and give the brand better longevity and sustainability.
