In addition to the bigger projects already mentioned on the forum ( ie the brewery and sand hoppers), I've managed a few jobs in the great outdoors.

I've reinstated the fencing (ex GRS) behind the platform at Peckforton Station and installed another running in board.

.
I've also repaired the cast concrete overbridge which got damaged when I was lopping and felling trees around the garden in the Autumn.

.
As some of you will know, I use our little conservatory as my workshop and struggle for storage space, so I've erected some additional shelving. All I can say is, my wife is extremely tolerant ....

Not sure about them being in full-sun, though, Rik?

Could 'age' adhesives and paintwork?
Could 'cook' (dry-out) the batteries, as well??
:(

I'm tending to store either fairly uv resistant stuff on there at present - eg track, or just temporary storage - eg wagons awaiting repair or coupling refits.

I wouldn't store locos there, even temporarily. I don't fancy cooking li-ion batteries!

PS How do you get smilies in a reply? The edit bar is greyed out on my computer.

Well, mine is grey.. I suppose it depends how 'light' the grey is?
I can't help, I just click the smiley-face and they pop-up.. Could 'pop-up' be the key?? - adblocker / pop-up blocker, perhaps??

The GE (as in GE_rik or Great Eastern) was always a poverty stricken Railway and had to do things for the best value.

Different Operating System? Different Browser?
Or just the tablet being 'over protective' perhaps?

Just checked again. If I hit REPLY to include a quote of someone else's post, then the menu is greyed out .....

...... I was going to say it's not greyed out otherwise (which it wasn't just now), but now it's greyed out again.

Odd....

Well, for the Forum to work 'better'.. I use Chrome on my Winders 7 laptop. - Internet Exploder, is too slow, and not 'feature-rich' enough to cope with the Forum very well.. :(
Chrome is supposedly quicker (and I think it is, once fired-up) but takes an age to open and settle, from a double-click..
