Part identification

My Aster/LGB K28 arrived today, and this part is included in the box?
Can anyone identify it please? Is it something to do with re-railing on the real thing, of am I barking up the wrong tree?

Yup that will make it a Rerailer then. Used to return itinerant wheels to the rails by putting on the rail just near a derailed wheel or wheels, normally used one each side and succesful,in quite a few cases. Loco is driven back in the rails with a bit of luck.
