Well Sunday's train was battery operated - a few circuits and they were flat. The railbus (inspired by an AEC in Australia), originally I had it track powered. The female of the species, feline supervisor took an interest - this was when the batteries ran out of juice...
But before that, under power with its' full consist ...
Yesterday's train was a tram or, more correctly, a PCC. I just love it even though it is 1:29 scale. Having time to operate something can be a little difficult and I had planned to run the car because, with all lights on as it would look good in the dark. And it did!
Just incapable of conveying how nice it looked!

So it was switch on the flash. Another 'closely observed' operation ...
Today's another day, but it will be something tramway related!
But before that, under power with its' full consist ...

So, I'm still managing to operate a train per day! Recent strong winds have caused some damage (or administered the Coup de grȃce ) to infrastructures - so the extention is out of bounds until the damage is rectified.
Pictures from Tuesday 24th onwards...
My representation of a Castlederg & victoria Bridge (roadside tramway) Kitson tram loco and train - on battery power...
.... and on the 25th running on track power. It was too windy to attach the coach!
The following day was still as windy, but the knuckle couplings added stability. My contractor's train ...
and a light at the end of the tunnel ...

Yesterday's train was an Annie & three blue coaches ....
and at speed ...
I would really like the matching loco to make up the train (they do turn up) but they are either more than I'm prepared to pay or I forget I'm Watching them and somebody else gets them!

Saturday, I got out one of my 2-4-2s. Early(ish) Bachmann stuff, they are not always good at collecting the current. I puts wipers on the tender wheels to gain extra pick-up.
Then on Sunday, I thought I'd put my Railbus Bash out so I charged some AAs. Originally, it was Key-fob controlled but now it's purely manual. Once it has been switched on - and the direction of travel selected - it is just a case of pressing down on the stove's smoke stack to stop and start it.
The lights have their own separate battery box but they didn't work so I guess there's a fault.
Today, I got a seasonal train out - I'll just call it a green train!
Just three shades of green...
Need to build a new bridge abutment (which was aleady suffering terminal rot before the wind blew it apart.
So that's yet another job awaiting better weather!

Would you believe me if I said that I didn't know what the sum total was?
Apart from running a train a day (my line has seen more use than in the previous five years!), it is giving me a chance to see if everything still runs. So far they do!
I have one demic (so far) which needs the chassis swapping - on which, I will open a short thread on the subject when I get to the Round-tu-it.
As for Mae, she i might have seen a moth or an insect (despite the weather) - her eyesight is exceptional. It wouldn't be any other creature - they all give the cats a wide berth! I suppose she needs a break from supervising!

Well yesterday, mid-day, was almost shirt sleeve weather! Having just collected two coaches (ex- G-Force 1) from the Post Office, I just had to run them!
My first European coaches! The only suitable loco I have is the steeplecab, so out it came ....
All went well - although some more pruning is required around the high level line. I left the train rolling while I attended to other matters outsaide. With no high winds, I could tell the position of the train just by the sound as it travelled over insulated sections and points.
Well pleased with my acquisitions and the lovely interlude in the weather!

Well, amongst domestic chores and deteriorating weather, I have still managed to run a train per day - probably more trains than my line has seen in the past five years! Today might be different as the forecast is strong winds. I shall have to wait and see.
Anyway, a few pics to add from the past few days....
I should probably call this loco "Billy Whiz" - probably needs a long string of stock behind it if it had the weight and tractionn!
This one, a Virginia & Truckee loco and train, was an early purchase as I began my adventures in G Scale!
with one of my staff...
I do like the wood burning locos ...
Here's my Rio Grande one....
The coach needs a cover for the Drumhead (it got lost in the post). That'll be another Round Tu-it!..

There must be a simple way of slowing the Hartland Mack down, but I can't think of it at the moment
