over sized LGB type couplings. What are they from / for?

Found these in my spares box. They look just like LGB hook and bar couplings but are much larger. (A standard LGB is pictured to the left of the big ones for scale.) what on earth are they for /from?

I'm pretty sure they are from the Bachmann Thomas the Tank Engine range.

I took a look at the Bachmann parts page and they certainly do look the same especially the mounting blocks.
Would never have considered they were from the Thomas range.
