laying down blocks to support the formwork,
I should have filled the planters with soil, so that would have supported it,
but I was too bushed to do so at the time

Using floorboards for side forming, plastic sheet used to stop concrete adhering to the blocks, which will be extracted after setting

Reinforcing in place,

when concreting was done, the iron did not sit straight on the wall tops but on a pad of concrete

Concrete poured, now this is where the mixer comes into its own

Simplicity of mix two 25kg bags ballast + 1 measure of cement in a suitable sized container saves work

When track is ballasted , ballast will be level with top of copeing

these are part of a job lot of broken celcons as received,

I thought I would try & go for really rustic type rock portal/tunnel

if it doesnt work out can still do a proper mouth

Another two layers of blocks to be added yet upto same height as above tunnel mouth,

The formed top planter will then have Fuchsias in it.

I have a vague idea stirring at the back of my mind

for a harbour/quayside coming off the end of the first planter,

utilising the castings made from Mike's moulds

Done a bit of track testing this morning, after the early Sun enticed me outside,

then it immediatelly turned grey
