NQD or AMAX; the same thing.
Note all the catalogue numbers start with 757, which is the number that appears on the LGB look alike red boxes....

Many thanks for the information Gizzy. Ah! yes, I remember the numbers 757 being mentioned some while ago.

Just in case of misperception, I remember when first released, Newqida did offer packaging not unlike the red box brand. I have been buying Newqida for many years (since release) and have never seen a 'red' box. The box is not RED. The packaging is similar in actual construction but far flimsier. I do not believe that Newqida expect one to store and collect their product in their stock packaging.

Alas, I do not have the 'attach' link icon on my response box. I have been through this several times. In full response mode there is no attach icon so I cannot include attachmenbts to my responses.

Hmm I do like the look of those, especially the green version, I hope this is good news regarding the future expansion of their range, would like to see hoppers some time in the future...

Mike,
I do not know how old your photographs are but as stated I have never received a red box. I have purchased several dozen Newqida items and the boxes are predominantly black with small character orange writing and stripes. There is no large locomotive icon on them. The brandname icon is called 'Train' and is approx. 1.5 inches long by 1.0 inches high with no loco icon drawing. They are not marketed under the '757' brandname. It is possible that a European distributor is still marketing them as a copy of LGB packaging.
I have been buying them since released several years ago and the boxes are BLACK and far flimsier construction than your photograph suggests. I buy them from the American distributor who first released them to the market, worldwide. I believe the boxes were red when initially released but withdrawn from sale in Europe as the boxes infringed copyright. I suggest your photgraphs are at least three to four years out of date.

Irrespective of box colour they are indeed nicely made coaches and as LGB do not make a seven-window version are hardly 'knockoffs'.

Red boxes were on sale at Stoneleigh this year. Maybe old stock but definitely red.

Tim

I bought some NQD plastic track recently (received June 7th). It came from the main UK supplier (STO racing) having been on hold for quite some while awaiting the next container from China. The original boxes delivered to Europe were black(ish) with orange stripes and the name "Train" on the logo, but those supplied more recently are in the colours shown by Mike with a prominent "757" brand mark. Here's a picture of my track boxes:

Enough said on that topic now please.

Mm, I bought a coach from 'Buffers' last week, it came in the bluey-black box with orange logos.... so the differnet packages all around at the moment it would appear.

The red packaging is cheeky for sure, but lets leave it at that eh, and not get hung up in the same old circular 'discussion' please?:@:wits:

Amen to that.

Are the Harz carriages from Amex/Newqida available in the UK yet ? I notice no change at STO racing.
