I just placed an order for six of these coaches. Being seven window coaches they do actually represent a prototype car on the Harz railway. Amazing how a new roof and underframe moulding transforms these exquisite little beauties into another railroad coach representation. I copied and expanded the stock photograph on the seller's site and it actually appears to have 'HSB' on the car side along with numerous car road markings. I am eagerly awaiting their arrival. I may need to consider a few six window cars from that other manufacturer, but then just one of their cars equates to around five of the other cars purchased.

That going to make for a nice train! I just wish they did U.S. coaches. As you rightly point out, price wise, i could not justify paying around £150 a coach, especially if i wanted six of them. Even if the Newqida coaches dont initially run as good as LGB its worth 15 mins with each coach to fit metal wheels and fettal up any issues. The issue i had with the coaches was the hoop coupling hitting the step on R1 corners and forcing it of the track. Sorted with the dremmal, and now as good as any other.
Tim, if you look at post 17 on a previous post on Newquid (my iPad does not appear to let me copy the link (so just search Newquid and it is the New. Newquida post in Shop Watch 3 pages of it)) here you will find some background info re the Harz option of these coaches. I am eagerly awaiting some getting to Glendale who seams to be offering the older stuff at very keen prices.

Quick tip I've found to help Newqida coaches stay on the track. They are prone to lift an axle when on curves where there is change in camber or gradient.
1) Turn coach on its side and look between the bogie and underside of the coach chassis. Only one end has the rounded bumps under the floor that control the roll of the coach over the track. Remove the bogie that DOES NOT have the bumps under it.
2) The hole in the bogie that the king pin goes through seems to be just under 6mm. Ream the hole out with a 6mm drill and just gently wiggle the drill while its rotatating. Your just looking to take a shaving of plastic off.
3) Refit the bogie. You should notice an increase in the bogies ability to rock from side to side.
This greatly helps the coach stay on the track. Make sure all screws are not overtightened and everything is greased and oiled as appropriate. This also helps.

Just received my Newqida HSB Harz coaches. Now I am a one-eyed LGB devotee but my initial reaction when viewing the Chinese coaches is , Marklin better up their game. The coach has new roof moulding, replicating the high arch roof typical of the #3070X series LGB six window cars. Also, a new underframe moulding and more robust end railings than those found on the earlier released Saschen cars.
Paintwork and lettering is superbly done and roadname is actually 'HSB'. Irrespective of the seven window car photograph and critique above, I have viewed You-tube videos and found cars that match the Newqida model. These are very attractive and well executed models. They are suplied in the earlier released green Saschen packaging with internal clear plastic supports. The known coupler issue still exists, however, this is readily sorted out in service.
If I have one 'criticism' it is that the sideframe compensation on the trucks is overdone in that there is too much compensated movement in the sideframe llowing a wheelset to drop out in transit. This should not be an issue inservice unless one's track is little more than a goat track. If thinking of getting these but put off by the negative hype, then I suggest acting soon. Once the word gets out these will quickly dry up in the marketplace or escaslate in price. I purchased six of these beauties for my personal useage. They worked out at approximately $70.00 Aud each including postage, as compared to the 'equivalent' six window LGB coach for around $400.00 each including postage if purchased locally. I may be tempted to purchase a HSB Cafe car locally from LGB to compliment the Newqida cars.

Modelling American outline means that I am not in the market for any of these Newquida products. I have wondered, however, what the difference, if any other than name, is the the products marketed as Amax. I see Buffers in Axminster, East Devon - http://www.buffersmodelrailways.com...and they do look very similar to the NQ ones.
