Hi Guys,
Another new wagon to show you. I'm still working on my website, so have to show it here, this way. It is 330mm over buffers, 83mm wide, weight 500 grams and will cost £30.

That looks good - very good.
How easy would it be to fit LGB hook and loop or knuckle couplers?

Hi,

Thanks for the kind comments. This is a brake down of the kit. You can see that the buffers are seperate, so you can add anything you want ;) They will come in 45mm and 32mm

Thanks.

Will the bogies be available seperately Rob?

Oh and what wheels do you use - thinking in terms of flange depth for the 45mm?

Hi,

The bogies are yet another thing I have new to my range but can't list until the new site is finished. As you can tell, the new site is really holding me back :impatient:

The wheel sets I use are the IP Engineering 24mm items (insulated 45mm). I have found them to be very good and trouble free.

Thanks,
Rob.

Thinking hat on here....(I know its dangerous!!)
I see that the side frames are separate to the bed.... so could I make them narrower by cutting the bed down equally each side??? and using sprung buffers and gauge one couplings:thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking:

Hi,

Yes, there is nothing stopping you from doing that. The resin can be cut with a tennon saw or hack saw, then filed and/or sanded to a flat finish

Rob,
definately a beautiful model, as is your wiggly van. At first thought, I could see a usage for several of these, but alas, they are built for 16mm scale and around 20mm too narrow for me (83mm as against 103mm width). Pity, as a few of these with double buffers would fit in well with my Thomas rolling stock.

Good point Tim,
I must run a tape over my Accucraft stock, they might be more compatible with some of those.

Just run a tape over the Accucraft wagons and these should be a good match with the L&B stock but a little narrow for W&L or Manx.

I reckon these are going to work a treat on my railway as they will be spot on with my Swift tankers. I have to admit that I never worry about the width of specialist vehicles - and might even try the two I have on order with my 7/8ths works railway stock. The question is what to put on them? Maybe we should have a "most original load" challenge in due course.......
Cheers
Chris

I would think adding strips either side of the main bit and planking it to cover the mod with balsa would cost about £5 and allow you to make them 100mm wide to match the Accucraft W&L stock and the hard work of the shape, sides and bogies is still all done for you. Might get one just to try this out :)

Well I've committed :) order sent off just got to wait for Rob to get wheels back in stock. Will start a thread on stretching it to match the W&L stock when it arrives. Gives me time to find some 5mm strip to space out the sides and suitable planks for the deck to hide the mod.

One week later, and Rob said there'd be a wait for wheels, and it's here much faster than expected!
Rob was very honest about expecting to wait a few weeks for wheels so the communication and delivery early is worth 10/10!
First reaction is very neat mouldings and feels substantial so 10/10 for quality too.
Laid it out and figured out the assembly quickly, though mentioning how the tubes fit in the bogie casting, or a small diagram, on a small business card sized photocopy might be worthwhile ;) still 8/10 for that as it's pretty obvious.
So very impressed with the kit and only one little suggestion for short instructions :)
Off to buy some bits for my conversion.

Note to put the brass tube on the axle before pressing on the second wheel.
