Hello. I am a new Member located in Northern California. I have been an N-Scale modeler for most of my life. I recently downsized my home and had to make a decision to move trains outside. I plan on re-doing my backyard to accommodate my new railroad. I have been purchasing items for my railroad which include a USA Trains SD-40-2 which will be painted in MRL. I also have an Aristo SD-45 which will also be painted as well. I have purchased quite a few cars already and I am currently scratch building a wood chip car. I will definitely be asking advice along the way as this scale is new to me.

Welcome to the forum....

Hi!
Welcome to the Forum.
Can you expand on 'MRL' for us Brits, who do not have so much knowledge of the US lines.

Oh! What name do we call you?

Welcome to the Forum rail, be good to have a name. You can put it in your setup as I have done. Click your name above then you can use your ‘signature’ as I have done below. But will take a week or so I before you can do that and some of the other options in the forum.

Oh sorry. MRL is Montana Rail Link. I have been out there to Railfan multiple times. I'm sorry to say it is now a fallen flag as BNSF took over this year.
My name is Matt. I took this Photo on the Polson Branch which is North of Missoula.

Welcome aboard.

Greetings from a tiny place in Europe, good to see you. Oh dear, I see the collective warped sense of humour hasn't been pointed out yet. Don't worry you will get used to it. Maybe.

Hi Matt, welcome to our forum. I also love the US trains, I also have a small collection of vehicles in my fleet.
Greetings from Canyon City.

The Aristo SD-45 needs 8 foot diameter minimum curves as the coupler is outside the rail on smaller curves and will derail the car attached to it. It can run on 6 foot diameter but you will most likely will get excessive wheel wear.
