I hate that I have so many projects half done but I started another one lol. My engine shed. My biggest building so far. The walls Marine grade plywood. The windows are those plastic ceiling light grates cut up to any size. got the idea from Larry a guy on you tube . And the chimney is made from jigstone moulds. I want to detail the inside some. Make it a little more believable.

Very nice build! Love the use of the ceiling tile grates for the windows.......Certainly has that "Pacific North West" look to it. Nice to see a shay sitting inside her. Looking forward to seeing her "roofed and ready" for service. (don't forget those big stacks to take away the exhaust!).......tom

Thanks Tom. It's not the quality of some of the builds on here but I'm having fun and I feel my skills are improving each time I create something new.

Jack, check out the lids to McDonalds milk containers, they would make a good top to a vent pipe, on old layout I used tops to Clorox bottles but I think the milk tops look better they have fins viewable from the side on the under side

Excellent detail, too much for me, but excellent. Reminds me of my recently done sawmill, got all done and realized when I went to take pictures of it in the yard that I couldn't see hardly any of the detail from 5' away. I knew it was there but just couldn't see it. Saw a couple of car that were done with just great interiors but when the roof was on it all disappeared. Just put it close to some good viewing area and I'm sure the masses will love it. Really like your gusset supports, that had to be a pain to make. You do very nice work, keep it up, Bill

Thanks. I like the way they turned out. It will be placed up close and I can leave the roof open . I thought it was crazy to do the inside too but then I thought why not lol.

Really great build there! Isn't half the fun of making things adding the little details? You may not see the rivets on the bottom, but you know they're there

Worked on the fireplace last night. Still needs to be grouted and weathered but I like the looks of it. Maybe add a mantel .IMG_20180702_145256696.jpgIMG_20180702_145321137.jpg

Got back to the engine house finally. I found some 1/4 inch PVC sheets to make the roof out of. hopefully it holds up. I reinforced it on the underside. The roof will be removable. I also got the chimney attached and the 2 stacks for the loco smoke to come out of. IMG_20180812_165849305_HDR.jpgIMG_20180812_223511136.jpgIMG_20180812_230602457.jpgIMG_20180812_230544417.jpg

Really shaping up nicely! I believe most spray paints for outdoor use include some UV protective agent. Check them out.

Did some weathering on the fireplace . Just a simple black wash. I made it heavier around the opening to look like years of use. Here is a before and after picture. IMG_20180813_002543696.jpgIMG_20180813_083616908.jpg
