This is the first Annie I've ever had, everyone says they are exceptional value.
P.s. The trees are just balanced on top of the cab for now, I'll fix them permanently later...

Ross,
I hope yours comes 'real soon'!

Talking about the valve gear...

Some testing was called for, so I found a suitable plug to connect the loco's 'lights' socket to my RC battery car.
She certainly runs smoothly, with sych'd chuff.
However, after the third violent derailment, I guessed there was some problem.
Each time I had only seen the other side of the loco, but the third time I looked at this side to find that the valve gear was hanging loose!
The hex head bolt that holds it to the centre driver was missing.
Was it missing originally, or had it fallen off?
I walked back round the track hoping to find it.
Amazingly, about 1/3rd of the way round there it was, conveniently lying on a darker flat bit by the track.
It, and its 5 brothers are now done up firmly.
Testing continues without more drama, so far.

This was my first G scale loco (White Pass) and despite some negative comments on a US site about Bachmann 'Annies' I love mine.... I've managed to derail her from about 18" onto fairly soild ground (on the island end of the suspension bridge) but she has carried on working well - one day I might buy another!!

I know their not the same as your annies but ive got 3 of these if anyone is interested they have been fitted with nicad batts and switches to either run on track or batt power come with new chargers and are boxed
£80 inc postage each, they are all named differently and all run perfectly and have tested them with 20 hopper wagons
lights work and wired via switch to stay on all the time even when static, smoke has been removed

The more posts the merrier!

Are you sure they are not Annies?
Both photos show metal Walshaerts valve gear.
What item numbers are they?
