MTS2 yellow light

Advice needed please.
A friend of mine (yes I have one, just the one) has fired up his MTS2 and whilst running the trackcleaner noticed that the yellow light on the control unit is lit.
What is the significance of the light? Should it be on? On my MTS3 the light remains off.
I can't find my instructions to check.

A yellow right LED indicates Analog Control "0+22" mode is selected - Zero bit stretching is enabled to allow for the use of an analog loco controlled using address 0.
