Has anyone had any dealings with this German trader
I saw a streetcar on ebay, bought it & paid for it. The number still available dropped from 2 to 1On the listing.
This was nearly a month ago. The streetcar has never been despatched, even though they quoted DPD postage. I have sent a message asking where it is with no response. Ebay will not cancel the sale as they say it may still turn up. The seller still has my money & my streetcar.

Sorry to hear that, Mike - I've not heard of that trader before.

Did you pay through PayPal? If so, it might be better to claim through them than eBay...?

Jon.

Had a similar experience on Etsy with a German trader. I got a refund via the site after 4 weeks and no delivery, and then after almost three months, the goods (which the seller had recorded as despatched via DPD), finally turned up. Looking at the various labels etc, it seemingly had sat most of that time with Deutche Bundespost, awaiting customs clearance (?). That wretched referendum a few years back just keeps on giving. :shake:

I've bought several "parts" items from MTS-line with no issues. Shipping was to "myGermany" (a reshipper located in Germany) and the goods arrived promptly as were as described on eBay.

I can also echo in the supply of parts, replacement boiler, and other parts. OK postage is a bit steep for customs clearance, but things did arrive and were as seen on their web site.

That's the one.

It's quite an odd listing as it says . . .

. . . and yet this model was shown in the 2022 New Items leaflet (page 34 of http://www.gbdb.info/data/weitere_dokumente/LGB/Neu_2022e.pdf)!

At least they are still advertising one on their website (Straßenbahn No. 130 San Francisco LGB 20384) so it's not as if they are advertising something that's "been and gone". The LGB website says they still have supplies too

While others have successfully ordered parts from them, I'm guessing those were under the £135 customs threshold, so it might be the value of ther item that's causing the delay. I note their price is somewhat lower than the UK retailer offering ther same model on ebay (even after VAT and carriage are taken into account). . .

My own dealings with MTS-Line started when I sent them an email, asking about the VAT/carriage situation when ordering LGB spare parts from their website to be delivered to the UK . . . but they never responded. Then (fortuitously) they listed the main things I wanted on ebay so I bought them (and other bits) that way (costing just under £90), and they were delivered promptly with no VAT issues.

Cheers

my guess is that they playing with you a "little" for time, Probably waiting on a "large" order from Marklin to come in.

DHL POST and their UK partner "Parcel force" are very old school, letters in the post rather than emails. I too have contacted MTS in the past and not got a reply, did you send the message in German or English ? I always think it more polite to write in german first rather than English and use the excellent Google-translate see LINK here

You really need that tracking number from DHL and you need to lodge that with Ebay., be prepared to pay the probable £150 customs charge to Parcelforce at the depot. If you paid with PAYPAL, see if you can lodge the discrepancy with them also as they are separate if not linked to ebay.

I would lodge a "missing" item dispute with Ebay asap and mark on the review that it has not been received. Brexit has nothing to do with this as things are now back to normal pre 90s ticks and crosses and they often send out to the rest of the world i bet.. but the Odd German business can be a little suspicious and old fashioned from experience. Even during the gloriously supposedly "free" EU days German traders would not even take a British "debit" card for payment as they classed it like one of those "pre loaded" currency cards.

Had an interesting conversation at the Swiss rail society AGM with a retailer on Saturday about Gaugemaster, they are not passing on real any discounts to traders at all and painted a nasty picture in his books, if bets they are happy to see the retailers disapear so that they can take onthe online market themselves.
