Having sort of finished the Boxcab, written an article for GardenRail, i had to find something to invest the fee in.

So off to http://www.grsuk.com/ < Link To GRS to look at their kits. I did toy with the idea of the Bo-Bo Boxcab kit, but had fancied the freelance mogul kit for a while:

They also do a colonial 0-6-0 kit with all sorts of bits and pieces hanging off the boiler and footplate:

Now looking for any prototype pics i can use for reference. Some of the guys on here have mentioned it looks a bit like some of the NZ locos, so any pointers to pics of them would be handy.

The chassis and running gear is modified from the one that they use for their L&B kits. It just goes round LGB R2 curves, the main restriction is the pony truck fouling the front of the cylinder. The 0-6-0 drivers are fairly short wheelbase so will just need a bit of vertical play introduced to the centre driver to make it sit better on uneven track.

Took a few pics of the prototype kit in the shop

Of course i will have to modify it a bit:

(just trying out alternate domes, it will have ONLY one!)

That's a very pretty loco- look forward to seeing what you do with it Doug.

Does have a certain "down under" look to it. Beyer Peacock perhaps?
