The CFR is in the process of changing over from continental buildings to British Isles buildings. To that end the CFR has invested in a number of Modeltown buildings:-

Main station building for St Bernards. This building will serve platform 1.

This building will serve as a waiting room for platform 2 and the excursion platform. This side will not be visible to the public.

This building will replace the shelter at Priory Halt. Priory Halt will be renamed Livingstone.

The CFR needs another station for the new extension. I was toying with the idea of something like this:-

It might be a tad larger than needed.
24/4/20. The buildings were placed on site at the CFR. All three buildings together looked just right.

The main station has a full complement of fire buckets:-

Even a bucket of coal for the Station Master.

Paul nice station buildings . I reckon they'll look good on the CFR. Modeltown are good kits but as they are resin you need to support the roofs inside as they tend to sag over time due to heat from the sun. Some wooden bearers s
Should do the trick.....

Thanks for the advice. I already use vintage Meccano to brace the roofs, I find the meccano works very well.

I'm glad to see you ventured out Paul, I assume you needed to do a security check on the site anyway.
Stay safe and don't take chances

Three months later and the buildings are fitting in well:-

Still more buildings to make to complete the transformation.

Think , know) I’m getting a small building from Modeltown, what is the best glue to use, if you don’t mind me asking. Thanks

I've used Uni bond Repair Extreme, if that helps. It doesn't dry solid, but remains fairly flexible so copes with any expansion etc. I've had my buildings outside for about 5 years, and they're still standing strong

I use Evostik Extreme. As an extra measure I drill and pin the walls and roofs.

Nice buildings, and nicely finished.

My only criticism was that, at one point, you had located the P-Way next door to the the WC and I wondered whether you had unnecessarily duplicated something o_O o_O o_O

However, since there has been a general re-location, all is well :nerd::nerd::nerd:

The CFR has taken delivery of more kits from ModelTown including another Station Masters,, a Station waiting room, a Signalbox all in brick and a locomotive shed.
I’ve made a start on another Corris cottage and a Welsh Chapel:-

Hi - Could you tell me if the figures in the first few shots of your station(s) are G Scale figures? Im having huge problems finding stations I want - whilst I will be running a German Narrow gauge railroad, the "owner of the railway" likes all sorts of building styles, including British designs! For G gauge, Pola and Piko seem to be the only prebuilt plastic kits. There are many superb Briitish kits but they all seem to be of the wrong scale. Then, I found this post and hang on, those figures look OK. Could these buildings be good for G Scale I aksed myself?

Looking forward to your reply

I have some of these buildings, very nice they are too. They seem to be sold as 16mm 1:19 but are definitely on the small side for that scale
