Spoke to Steve about this yesterday.

Is there a thermal cut-out on the Z1200?

No disrespect but would Steve run enough locos at one time to draw 12 amps. That is assuming he has it set on 12 . I know I have never pulled 12 amps

Very glad to hear it's all working again, Steve!

A quick joke brought to mind by this incident:

Four Engineers are out for a drive together; suddenly the car coughs, splutters and the engine dies.
The Mechanical Engineer says: "I reckon it's the fuel pump."
The Chemical Engineer says: "No, probably contamination in the fuel itself."
The Electrical Engineer says: "No, must be the ignition system."
The Computer Engineer says: "Why don't we all get out, then get back in again, and see if it starts...?"

:D

He often has 4 trains running on his now double tracked layout, including a Sumpter Valley Mallet.

Not sure what his current draw is, but the unit was originally inside a small cubby hole, and it therefore might not have been getting a proper cool air flow.

Hence my question Phil....

The most that I've had on the at one time has been eight, but four running at on time is generally the most that run at one time.

The 1200Z has been running (touch wood) all day with no problems. Lets just hope it's a glitch.

I'll post some pics later of what's been occurring today on the EM&BHR today:clap:

Good to hear you are up and running again...and so is the Massoth...what a massoth relief eh :D

I have just got back from Cliff's open day where I saw his computer run layout...mighty impressive. All with out user intervention while he talks and socialisesEverything decelerating, stopping and gently accelerating with about five complete trains allrunning but never crashing...now wouldn't it be nice to think that we could be so nonchalent. I did ask if there were ever 'incidents'.....'rarely' was the reply
The points are operated by compressed air and also operate totaly automatically.
He does operate manually using ordinary digital telephone sets as the controllers. Trouble ensues if you try to make a call though:banghead:

As I got back later than expected will not get over tonight but is there a time during the week?
