Massoth Navigator Firmware 1.9 - it's out!

At this rate, Mark, you'll be spending all your day at the show just doing free upgrades.... I don't know how long each one takes, but maybe you should book timeslots? ;)

Just to check, also - is it necessary to have the central station on the latest firmware too, if the Navvies and the Rx are upgraded? Not sure which version my 1200Z is running, I know I've never had it updated since buying it from GRS 3-4 years ago....

Thanks!

Jon.

Please note the following from the documentation for v1.9 Navigator firmware

The update V1.90 requires the following firmware versions:
- DiMAX Central Station : Version 2.62
- DiMAX R/C Receiver II 8133101 (digital+analog) : Version 2.1
- DiMAX R/C Receiver 8133001 (digital only) : Version 1.9

I will be happy to update Central Stations as well as Navigators and Receivers at G Rail on Sunday but it will be on a first come first served basis.

Thank you Mark - that was excellent service. Great.
Looked like you were having a good (as in busy) day.

Guess who missed out the bit about receivers.........

Guess who's posting his receiver tomorrow!!

Just wanted to publicly say a HUGE thank-you to Mark (Muns) for his sterling efforts in doing all the upgrades at the show yesterday! :)

Jon.

Well done Mark..

If you get any feedback from Massoth about why some units would not upgrade, could you post it on the Forum please. - Would be good to have a 'heads-up' if there is a pattern, or something to look out for with this..

Many thanks,
Phil Partridge.

Thank you profusely for the upgrades Mark. Excellent service and well worth the donation! I hope the show was a good one for you.

I think I spent 3/4 of the day updating Navigators, Receivers & 1200Zs and tinkering with Ed's Yodelling Ge 4/4 III as well! I lost count in the end! Thanks to those who kindly made a donation for my time and effort.

I know you'd offered to do it all free, Mark, but it would have been churlish not to have slipped you a little something (oo-er, missus!) for all your time and trouble! :)
Re: Ed's yodelling loco, can you tell us how to disable it again please, as we're the ones who will have to put up with the bl**dy thing at the Suffolk/North Essex open days....? ;) ;) ;)

Jon.

Guess what I have been up to....again....yep...updating firmware on the two Navigators that caused me problems on Sunday! Now if I can just remember who they belong too.....

Hi all,

I appreciate this is an older thread however I have dusted off my Massoth DCC gear (800z and wireless navigator) after a few years of inactivity and I cannot for the life of me get the navigator handset up to the latest firmware. Steps so far:

Upgraded my 800z to v2.65 no problems at all using the Dimax update utility
Connected the navigator directly to the bus using a cable
Tried using the new 3.0 service tool

Nothing seems to work.

I am connected via the RS232 to USB to a Windows 10 laptop. Navigator is running 1.71b.

Is there a step by step guide anywhere?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards,

Dont know about a guide - but you do need to do some of the missing upgrades first - you cant just jump to the current.

That would be my first thought too..

I think you will have to find any intermediate upgrades, and go through them sequentially.. - I tend to do this with decoders as well.

OK, sorted. The RS232 cable extension was the culprit. Strangely I used this to update my 800z however it would not work to subsequently upgrade the handset...

Upgraded straight from 1.71b to 2.0b
