Any ideas please. I have, eventually succeeded in fitting a Massoth eMotion S sound card to my rail bus and trailer. Great sounds. However, f1 now not only sounds the horn but turns the interior lights on. F1 again sounds the horn and turns the lights off etc. Also as well as internal light functions f1 intermittently not only sounds the horn but then rings the bell followed by station announcement. Clearly something is not right but I’ve no idea what. Any suggestions please. I know that Phil may be able to assist. Thank you.

Clive you have two decoders, in effect.. The sound card is set to F1 horn, and it seems the original decoder is set to turn the interior lights off/on with F1?

To keep it simple (rather than trying to describe decoder locking) you need to have a way to disconnect power from each decoder, so you can program the still-powered one, without upsetting the other.

If you are getting several sounds, one after the other, it may be serial commands are being sent / interpreted somewhere along the line?

Also, remind me what Central Station you are using, please?

PhilP.

Phil Sorry for delay but my laptop lost its battery power. Thank you so much for your reply/ Somehow I had confidence that you would have the solution. What you said made sense.
I have a LGB 55006 Central station and a Massoth diMax blue navigator.
What do you recommend I do now polease.
Many thanks for your help. I am so grateful that there are people 'out there' who understand these things.

Disconnect power from the S decoder. - 'All' LGB use F1 whistle/horn etc..
Then see what F1 to F0 do with just the original decoder powered. - Make a note of this.

I assume it is the 'large onboard decoder' in the the lok?

Once we have a list of functions, we cab decide where to change things..

Ok sound card disconnected. F1 turns on/off internal lights. F9 turns on/off directional lights. No occurrances on other F buttons. The main card is surrounding the motor.

Can you double-check if F8 gives 'shunting' speed, please? - Halves the speed the motor will run at..

If not, we can program the internal lights to F8..

Hi Clive,

A reply from Massoth!

Can you read CV51 please?

IF, and ONLY IF it is '1', then try changing the value to '8' and see if the internal lights are now controlled by the F8 key.
Any other value, just report back please..

PhilP.

I’m using my diMAX navigator. I can programme in a cv and value but I don’t think I can check the value of that cv

In which case, we will go with Massoth.. Change CV51 to '8'.. :)

Then test..

Now there is no flashing just F1 = internal lights. Don’t you just love these problems?

That sounds like a serial/parallel problem?

Try CV51 to '16'?

?? Could three-flashes be the MTS programming, I wonder ??
Does F9 still toggle the front/rear lights?
