Morning I have just bought another one of the above this is my second, I intend to put them working on 8 points in simple turns how do they work to-gether, I can wire the points ok to the decoder but I don't want 2 numbers going off to-gether Les
 
The second switch decoder has to be programmed.

1) Hook up the two wires from the digital central and the two wires from one switch motor according to illustration 4 on page 9 in the manual.
2) Program CV2=77 (to unlock the decoder)
3) Program CV32 = 5 (output 1 becomes adress 5)
4) Program CV34 = 6 (output 2 becomes adress 6)
5) Program CV36 = 7 (output 3 becomes adress 7)
6) Program CV38 = 8 (output 4 becomes adress 8 )
7) Program CV2=0 (to lock the decoder)
8 ) Unhook the wires from the digital central and the switch motor

The Massoth 4 Channel Switch decoder allows you to specify any awitch address for each of the 4 outputs (unlike the LGB 55025 which limits you to a sequential block of 4 addresses).

To program the switch decoder.

1) Connect it to your programming track.
2) Connect a point motor to the SW1 terminals
3) Unlock the decoder by setting CV2 to 77
4) Program the relevant CVs (see later)
5) Lock the decoder by setting CV2 to 0
6) Connect to the main track feed and test.

For switch addressed 1 through 255:
Output 1 (SW1) - Set CV31 to 0 (default) & CV32 to the address value (i.e. 5)
Output 2 (SW2) - Set CV33 to 0 (default) & CV34 to the address value (i.e. 6)
Output 3 (SW3) - Set CV35 to 0 (default) & CV36 to the address value (i.e. 7)
Output 4 (K5/K6) - Set CV37 to 0 (default) & CV38 to the address value (i.e. 8)

If you need to increase the pulse duration, two CVs for each Switch output must be changed.
Output 1 - CV51 & 52
Output 2 - CV53 & 54
Output 3 - CV55 & 56
Output 4 - CV57 & 58

These determine the mode and duration of the output. For LGB switch motors this value should be 67 (monoflop operation, 3/4 sec). Add 1 for each additional 1/4 sec duration required.

Hi thanks very much, I have never done CV so with my hand control I would press 31 then 0 plus 32 for point 5 etc am I right? Les

Morning I did the above and it didn't work, I have the loco changing LGB unit and have used it to change the LGB wireless points units and that works ok, will that work or have I to buy the Massoth system? Les
 
Did you unlock the point decoder before starting? - CV 2 to '77'.
Did you have a point motor connected as well? - Needs it to detect the 'done' signal from the decoder..
Re-read post #2, but yes, to set output 1 to address 5 you would set CV 31 to '0' and then CV 32 to '5'.

Remember to set CV 2 back to '0' when done! - Don't ask!! ;)
 
Hi Les,

If you have the LGB 55045 programming unit you can use that to change the CVs.

If you have the Massoth DCC programming software (available from the Massoth download centre at www.massoth.com) then you can use that in conjunction with the 55045.

You can also use the LGB programming software but you will need to use the "Read/Program individual CVs" options as it does not know anything about the Switch decoder.

Les - not sure what you mean by the "loco changing LGB unit". Do you mean the 55015 universal remote? That will work fine if connected to track and DCC input on the Massoth unit, so long as you have at least 1 point motor connected to the switch decoder while programming. No point motor connected: no programming stored by the decoder.......
 
Guys, can I follow up on this thread. I have a 8156001 with an LGB 55015p hand controller also and trying to understand how to enter the values in keystroke terms not CV ones. So if I am reading this thread correctly I set up my programme module in the handset, brown/white wires to the switch and green/yellow to the transformer. I connect a point motor to SW1.
I switch on my power and the display shows C--. I enter 02 (CV2), the display changes to d--, I enter 77. Display briefly changes to -- then back to C--. I do this for CV32 etc.
I replace the module, power back on. Display is blank. I press F1, it shows S-, I enter 5 then> and nothing happens?
What am I doing wrong?
