When you read a decoder, the software uses a 'template' to decide what is read, and where this information should be displayed within the software..
Not all CV's are attempted to be read. - If there is not an entry in the template-file, then that CV value will not be read and displayed..
Fitting an XLS to the new Allegra, there are 'extended lighting functions' available using the SUSI bus for control. There is follow-on article on the Massoth site which gives details for this.
It IS possible to read/write individual CV values using the PC Module, but it is not possible to list the CV values back in a comprehensive form, for reference/display/printing out.
This means I (we) will need to work through CV by CV to program these lighting functions, and then go through them again to check they are correct.
It is also assumed this template is used when reading-back the decoder programming as a XML file for later upload/backup of changes made.
Can anyone confirm these observations?
Does anyone have a 'generic' template file which will attempt to read all possible CV values? - AND following on from this, what happens if certain CV values are not present in a decoder, but the software attempts to read them?
