Shops, museums, places of interest, whatever.

Visit a few stations just to watch trains?
Clapham junction or similar

Probably a few other better places, but depends on your plan.

Or ride the docklands railway, especially if you can sit in the front seat and pretend to drive (their driverless trains)

The best of the LT transport museums, you will love every bit of it. Come back soon to ride the "'38 tube stock" on a full trip, or as you will see there, the hopefully soon to be commissioned "Q Stock" set (memories of as a small child going to school in the '60's)

Fun thing is you can start at one point for a railway "fix" in London and end up at the next one for another but different one. Like the Victoria/Bluebell, Central Line/E&O, Picadilly Line/both LT Museums and they will in all probabilty be linked to your point of entry to UK. The Eurostar ? Gricers paradise ! Max

P.S. Ooh, don't forget Bekonscot Miniature railway | Beaconsfield | Bucks | Chilterns | Bekonscot Model Village Quick ride on the Chiltern line from Marylebone Station (get there on the Bakerloo line, ride the oldest tube stock at 54 years old). You want to see a real garden railway ? Yes they use 45mm gauge, the LGB track !

Yes, both great and sympatheticly restored termini. Now do you know the link between St Pancras station and those bright red telephone kiosks, and near where I live ? You could even do an UndergrounD tour of all the great large London termini, add Liverpool Street, Victoria (a 2 in one terminus bonus), Waterloo and Paddington. Charing Cross though small is interesting too. Perhaps a little "hard core" but if you like historic railway architecture why not ? Max

Best way, it costs more than a flight to get from the airports to your final destination. Just avoid leaving from Paris!
Becareful using the Underground, it's quick, and convenient, but bloody hell it's hot. Very, very hot!

A different ‘need to know’ Mobile Phone theft is currently endemic in London. Best not to use in in any public space, if you do go inside a Shop or somewhere safe. Also I like to have zipper pocket trousers when in London to keep my wallet and phone safe from light fingers.
