After a slight accident my ragleth suffered some nasty chips.

Any suggestions on a matching touch up colour for the accucraft green.

I'm planning on using a similar technique to car touch up kits. Primer pen and then colour and possibly lacquer

I would look on the Garden Railway Club website, there has been some discussion of Accucraft paint matching at various times.

Ask Accucraft. Roundhouse use standard BS colours and can give ref' so any paint specialist can mix some touch-in or rattle can. Perhaps Accucraft can do the same. If you have not gone through the colour coat you culd use some T-Cut to polish out.

You could take the loco to your local automotive paint supplier he will be able to take a photo of the colour and give you a formular for a paint code that will match

My local paint shop can do a computer match on paint colour. I mix up some paint to the colour I want and paint it onto a bit of white card or take a chip along they scan it and give me an identical match....

Trouble is, new to the old..it never seems to match because of the age of the older paint and its chemical composition alteration (I found anyway). A pro might be able to do it.

The biggest problem with old paint is that it has changed, due mostly to sunlight (not always faded lighter) so the original paint no longer matches. It is quite possible to mix a paint to match the old paint exactly but that too will alter in time so will no longer match. It's a no win situation. Some colours are worse than others, red probably being the worst, but even white and black change. White goes yellow and black goes to blue or brown.
