A video marking the visitation to the Peckforton Light Railway of locos and stock from the Deben Valley Railway.

The first time in its history that a live steam loco has graced the metals of the PLR - the video marks this occasion.

Many thanks to Zach Bond for navigating to this remote corner of Cheshire from the Suffolk coast and for braving the almost continuous rain to make it happen

Great video - the visitors look really at home!

Thanks Mick. Yes, there is some overlap of the philosophies behind our railways - both rural, both set in real locations, both aim to reflect UK light railway practice - though Zach would be the first to admit that the DVLR is probably slightly more eccentric in its stock and practices than the PLR.

I must say, though, I was chuffed (sorry about the pun) to have a former Compton Down loco running on the line.

Brilliant, the DVR stock looked right at home. And live steamed looked ace on your railway. A great team effort :D

Thanks chaps. Despite the weather it was an enjoyable day. I'm not certain my railway is the best design for live steam though - I think 'challenging' is the word ;)
