Ah yes, the Stiege Loop - originally used (I believe) for turning coal trains; we saw it from the main line on our visit in 2017, when me, Chris and Stuart were the only passengers on a railcar from Alexisbad to Eisfelder Talmuhle - we did briefly consider slipping the driver a few Euros to take us round the loop, but he'd already made one unscheduled detour on the trip!

indeed it was used for Coal Trains to the Power Plant at Silberhutte. However once it was built other freight used it as well, Ingots and Truck Motor Parts to/from Harzegerode plus Any other odds of freight which may well also have included Flourspar from Straßerg. This was all to stop having to transpose freight To Standard Gauge Wagons at Gernrode, it may also have allowed the closure of the line from Quedlinberg that has now been re-opened by the HSB. The Blue Crane still present at Gernrode was used for Sundry transposing purposes.

A few words can bring out the perverted minds in all of us..........WE HAVE PENETRATION. One day, while on the job, a steamfitter was being told what to do about a particularly tricky issue he had with some details of his work. A few of us were trying to explain it to him. Finally, after much explaining he got it, and someone uttered those words, "We have penetration". The lot of us almost fell off our chairs with laughter, as it was so unexpected and spontaneous.

So why anyone would think that penetration into the mind was worthy of censorship, is proof that our collective minds are usually in the gutter..........I say this with full humor and mean no disrespect to any member of the forum.
