I’ve just returned from a lovely stay in North Wales and I was lucky enough to take a few photos of Lilla on the Ffestiniog Railway.
This picture when compared with my Roundhouse Lilla shows how faithfully the details on their model locos are replicated, down to the rivets and even the ‘crest’ of the brass dome.

I just need to add a lamp and some oil cans!

I must say that I do prefer Lilla in her black livery, but I do respect her original Hunslet Green.

All credit to Roundhouse Engineering and Ffestiniog Railway.

I've seen UTubes of Lilla at Threlkeld and the Roundhouse loco, so I was wondering what that box like device sticking out of the back wall on the right side was for?

I believe it’s to accommodate the handbrake handle which you can just see in the picture. The Roundhouse Lilla also features this but of course there’s no handbrake.

One question I had was “How does Lilla run without any visible coal supply?” Apparently there’s a narrow compartment on the inside of each side of the cab to store enough coal for the type of shunting work she was built for.

It looks even better with all the other bits that Roundhouse didn't put on...

Sorry I wasn't meaning to make any poor comment on your thread as such, just show another example
Not sure what you are apologising for, but thank you! I was just pointing out that RH supply the model based on what they saw and measured at Boston Lodge in 2000-and-something, it is not in Penrhyn Quarry condition.

There is a similar bulge to the RHS of the cab on a NG/G16 loco where the cab has been altered to accommodate a rotating handle of some kind. Even hardy engine drivers need their knuckles, y'know!

It is for the handle on the reverser wheel. There is also one on the fireman's side for the handbrake wheel (although 87 being a different contraption doesn't have either).
