I've been told that the Bachmann Liliput V3 diesel is the European version of the Bachmann Davenport. Can anyone confirm this? If so, is the drive train identical?
Thanks Paul. I love my two Davenports. They are great for switching (shunting) operations. But the surging issue on downgrades puts still a knot in my stomach. I know there are worse things in life.
My Andel Ffion does the same thing; it certainly was disconcerting when it first did it but many, many operating hours later it seems none the worse for the habit, which it still does. Me, on the other hand......
I've had fairly good luck with them Paul. I've only had one that failed, but it was my fault for letting my grandson operate the loco without checking the smoke fluid. I thought about installing one in a Stainz, but I don't think the boiler is big enough to squeeze one in. Perhaps a larger steam loco would work.
