LGB's new 'high end'* Shay IS 1/20.3 scale after all!

Hi Paul,

thanks for the offer of the source for 3D printed motor blocks - fortunately the three-truck Shay I have has the late model motor blocks and I also have two other brand new ones from Bachmann (they tend to send a complete assembly if something gets broken in transit - I received two On30 complete chassis because a step was broken when the first one arrived and the replacement had a similar small breakage).

Hi Paul,

I'm in Melbourne, Australia - that's the Australian flag but it's a bit hard at that size to differentiate from New Zealand (both have the Union Jack in the upper left corner but there are two more stars on the Australian flag - with the large one in the bottom left hand corner).

I'm assuming you are in Ireland by the flag against your name.

I don't have a track - not interested in the maintenance and have too many other projects so I run at the AMRA (Australian Model Railway Association) Victorian Branch track at Glen Iris (10 minutes from home) and at a number of others by invitation. I also model and exhibit in 1:48 scale - On30 as Victoria had four government lines to this gauge (five if you include the horse powered one). The Puffing Billy Railway and the Walhalla Goldfields Railway operate on the remaining sections of two of these lines.

A couple of my locos & rolling stock at Glen Iris (the Bowande Falk is live steam - currently being fitted with radio control as it is a little rocket) :

Accucraft 7/8" Decauville live steam - now with radio control:

Roundhouse Davenport with a long train at a colleague's "Copperhead Garden Railway" at Venus Bay, Victoria:

And you might have gathered I like to weather my locomotives and rolling stock.

Cheers,
